From the soil, they grow,
Amidst the sun and the rain,
The cocoa beans that we know,
So essential to life and gain.
But behind this sweet delight,
Lies a story of power and might,
Of movers and shakers in the night,
Whose greed is a blight.
They seek not just wealth,
But the power that transcends,
And in their quest for stealth,
They oppress those on whom it depends.
The smallholder farmer,
So often forgotten and ignored,
Must take back their power,
And stand up to be restored.
For no one else can do it,
No saviour from on high,
The farmer must rise up and sit,
At the table where decisions lie.
With agency in their hands,
They can shape their own fate,
And chart a new course for these lands,
A future that's truly great.
So let us support them,
In this quest for power and might,
For together we can stem,
The tide of injustice and make it right.
